Yu is qualified to practice in the U.K., Singapore and China, with more than 10 years of practical experience in both private practice and in-house IP management. He is experienced in drafting patent specifications, and prosecuting patent applications internationally, with particular focus in the U.S., China, Europe and Singapore.
Yu entered the profession in 2006 with a U.K. based top tier international IP firm, and subsequently worked as an IP counsel in a China based MNC managing their global patent portfolios. He has particular expertise in building and managing international patent portfolios, and is currently a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA).

Before joining Sin Cathay, Jun had worked as an IP engineer in a Japanese corporation and as a patent attorney in a top-tier Singapore law firm. She is experienced in helping clients building global patent portfolios well-aligned with their business goals. She works closely with clients in Asia to obtain IP protection worldwide. Besides managing clients’ patent prosecution in different jurisdictions, she also provides value-added services, such as procedure standardization and quality control, to improve efficiency of resource utilization for clients.
Jun’s main areas of practice include drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications worldwide in a variety of technologies, such as consumer electronics, semiconductor devices, communication systems, control systems, green energy and computer-related inventions.
Jun is also proficient in spoken and written Chinese and is capable of handling patent matters in Chinese.
